Screening, then extraction, on one citation — with the sentence every answer came from.

How it works

Four steps from a reference file to a written review.

  1. The import screen: a reference file has been uploaded, its columns mapped to title, abstract, authors and year, with duplicates already flagged before anything is saved.

    Step 1 of 4

    Import your references

Search a database, and deduplication is automatic.

  2. The protocol editor: an eligibility question with its answer options, each tagged include, exclude or neutral.

    Step 2 of 4

    Define your protocol and parameters

Control your screening and extraction AI.

  3. The screening workspace: the AI's answer with its confidence score beside the sentence it was drawn from, and the reviewer's own choice still unmade.

    Step 3 of 4

Screen, validate, and extract together with AI

Supercharge your confidence; see what the AI sees.

  4. The Write stage: the manuscript beside its preview, with an AI run drawing a figure.

    Step 4 of 4

    Write a review

Ask for a table, a forest plot or a results paragraph. AI writes it from your data and cites every study.

Built for the parts that actually take time

Screening is not the slow part. Deciding whether to trust a screen is.

Evidence you can click

Every answer links to the sentence it came from. Try it: click one.

Measles outbreak in an office building in the crowded Metropolis of Beijing, China

Li et al., BMC Infectious Diseases 2019;19:771

We performed descriptive analyses of data on demographic characteristic, laboratory testing and epidemiological information. From February 25 to March 28, 2016, 43 outbreak-related measles cases occurred in an office building in Beijing. The total crude attack rate was 1.20% in the building. The age range of patients was 23 to 45 years old, of whom 30 (69.8%) were migrants and 5 (11.6%) were vaccinated but without documentation.

The OtterSR screening engine

Custom agents, built for systematic review

OtterSR runs screening and extraction agents built for one job: each reads a citation against your eligibility criteria, commits to one of your answer options, scores its own confidence and quotes the sentence it relied on. A second agent re-reads anything shaky and says where it disagrees.

Four tiers, from a thousand abstracts for the price of a coffee to the hardest full texts. Set one for the whole review, or one per phase.

* Screening only: title and abstract, 4 questions per paper with the second reader on — the same arithmetic the app uses before a run. Full-text extraction sends the whole document and costs more per paper. Your figure moves with your protocol, and the app shows an estimate before every run and the real cost after it.
